Client Manager

WorkNest is hiring a Client Manager on behalf of our sister company. This is a hybrid role, requiring in-office attendance twice a week at either our Leeds or Stevenage location.
The Client Manager will manage a portfolio of accounts with a mid-level personal retention and growth target. The focus will be on building strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and driving growth through renewals, upsell, and cross-sell. This is a development role for someone ambitious, proactive, and eager to progress within a commercial career path. Success in this role is less about years of experience and more about the right attitude, drive, and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Portfolio Management
Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their satisfaction, retention and growth
Carry a mid-level target, contributing to team goals through renewals and expansion
Act as the day-to-day contact for assigned clients, building strong and trusted relationships
Identify opportunities for upsell and cross-sell, bringing additional value to clients
Support client meetings, reviews, and renewal conversation with guidance from senior colleagues
Revenue Growth and Retention
Work to consistently achieve retention and growth targets
Proactively spot risks of churn and support strategies to protect accounts
Contribute to commercial negotiations and renewals, developing skills in deal handling
Keep CRM records accurate and up to date to provide full visibility of pipeline and forecasts
Collaboration and Team Contribution
Work closely with the Client Management Team Leader for coaching, mentoring, and skills development
Lean from and support senior colleagues, shadowing on key accounts where appropriate
Collaborate with other departments to ensure excellent client outcomes
Partner with Marketing to follow up on campaigns and ABM activity
Share best practice and contribute to a positive, ambitious team culture
Professional Development
Take ownership of personal growth, actively engaging in feedback and training
Build knowledge of the sector and continuously improve account management skills
Demonstrate ambition and readiness to progress into more senior roles
Skills and Attributes:
Previous Cyber experience is desired
More important is a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
Motivated by targets and comfortable working in a commercial environment
Good communication skills, with confidence to engage clients and build relationships
Organised and disciplined, with attention to detail in managing accounts and pipeline
Curious and eager to learn about cyber security sector
Resilient and adaptable, with the drive to deliver results
Willingness to travel for client meetings and events as required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or relevant account management experience. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
